Updates

  • Preparation for the first visitJune 2025We are planning our first visit to Tamar House and are excited about the opportunity it will give us to connect with the residents, listen to their stories, and offer love, support, and encouragement. We hope to walk through the shelter to better understand the space, learn about the work being done, and share experiences while offering practical guidance where we can. We look forward to joining the women and children for lunch, giving us the chance to sit together, connect, and enjoy a meal in a relaxed and welcoming environment. After that, we have planned some ‘fun and games’ as we spend time with the children, help tidy up their bedrooms and play area, and take note of anything they might need. We will also take along a few essentials requested by the Tamar team, as well as some snacks and sweets for the little ones. It will be a small but meaningful step in offering support and understanding, and in building relationships with all at Tamar House.

  • Last Visit to Tamar HouseJuly 2025Our day began with energetic Zumba sessions led by Dr. Karen, followed by stretching exercises to get everyone moving and in high spirits. We shared fresh fruit and heartfelt conversations with the ladies - encouraging one another, exchanging life experiences, and planting seeds of faith and hope in their hearts. A healthy and hearty lunch of roasted chicken, gratin chouchou, and mixed salads was the perfect way to satisfy our post-workout appetites. An added bonus was that we were able to supply Tamar with a number of essential items, including frozen chicken, fish, nuggets, cooking oil, tissues, milk (for both adults and babies), baby cereal, nappies, yoghurts, slippers, and more. We also donated toys, additional clothing, and a brand-new gas stove, which will make a significant difference to Tamar.
